AKA: Different strokes for different folks.
If you know me, you can be sure that I’m not going to write a political post, so what could I be talking about?! Several weeks ago, I received a notification that my site was “gaining popularity.” These aren’t uncommon especially since the traffic is relatively low – if, for some reason, every family member who reads this all reads it on the same day, I would receive that notification. I didn’t go back to it because I was busy. On the day of writing one of the last two blogs, I did go ahead and review my “stats” for the prior couple weeks and there was one day where the traffic was thousands of people. Shocking since… you know, this isn’t really the hard hitting content that America is currently anxiously awaiting to consume. Then, I looked at the posts and the post in question that gained all the traffic was “Sperm Omelette.” I’ll let you all draw your own conclusions, but just know the visitors were not looking for information on an egg retrieval from 2018. I think I remember at the time of publishing that I did have concerns regarding the title; obviously the concerns weren’t enough to outweigh what I thought to be an ingenious title.
Phew! Just went back and reread that post which is NOT something I do anymore. Looking back on the period of time in between 2015- the older kids’ births is not something I’m interested in doing. Is there “healing” to be done – outside of what has already taken place by being in the throws of motherhood – sure. Am I ready to go back to that place to crank through the healing? No. Feeling the hope of that young woman, excited about finally getting to a “successful” retrieval, while knowing the outcome is still hard.
Curriculum night is tonight for the older kids. Justin will stay at home with everyone while I attend – to imbibe on the spoils of their new school and learn from their teachers on what the coming year holds.
XOXX
