Child see, child do: a prescription retinoid story

For the most part, our house is fairly safe for children. Having four young ones makes it a necessity. It aligns well with us, considering I’m not one for ceremony or specific design choices, most things are free game.

Scarlett has become an absolute master of two things: finding everything she shouldn’t and bringing things to you. I mean things you don’t need, most of the time. Put the phone in a safe spot, she’ll pick it up and bring it to you. Same with the remote, coffee, water, etc. The other weekend, I found her emptying a drawer with some white stuff on her face. That turned out to be my prescription face medicine, of which she was super proud to show me. Unfortunately (in her eyes), I had to scrub it off immediately and remove it from her possession. Thankfully, she didn’t eat any of it and there’s no lasting impact, but she is truly a shadow of mine and always keeps us on our toes.

Y’all know social media well enough, I’m sure, that you see these wild claims posted as truth for people to repost, as widely varied as possible to make sure one aligns with your viewpoint. (To summarize: nonsense). Well, I saw one that was like “the second child you have of the same sex is like your inner child escaping.” I could tear apart that statement and its hilariousness, but rather than doing that, I choose to see this tiny beacon of light as a literal inner child escaping. Kinda like a prison break. 🤣
